Alex Santos with an original Macintosh computer

    Making tech work beautifully.

I create apps and websites, improve what you already have, and make sure you’ve seen the alternatives before you commit.

The technology person you can call. From the first conversation to the support after launch.

    My work / Passenger.ie

The app. The film. The launch.

    Passenger.ie

I built Passenger.ie to make Irish train booking easier. I also created this commercial and the cinema campaign behind it, taking the same idea from the first screen to the big screen.

    Apps I’ve built

Useful apps start with a real problem.

I built these projects from the design and code to the launch. Each started with something that was harder for people than it needed to be.

    FuelWatch.ie

The driver at the pump can help the next one.

A driver can see today’s price on the forecourt. I built FuelWatch to let them share it, so someone else can compare before setting off. It covers more than 1,500 stations across all 32 counties.

The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission sourced retail petrol and diesel prices from FuelWatch.ie for its analysis.

    Passenger.ie

A train ticket without the confusion.

Teaching older people showed me how intimidating an unfamiliar booking screen can feel. I built Passenger around a plain-English conversation, so people can explain their journey in their own words.

    How I built Passenger
    Briefcase 翰途Briefcase

Hong Kong court forms, ready to complete online.

I co-founded Briefcase with Caroline Langley, a Hong Kong barrister, and built it as CTO. We created it to help law firms find bilingual Family Court forms, complete them online and download clean Word or PDF documents.

    QuanticaLegal

Find the cases behind a compensation claim.

I built Quantica to help legal teams find the cases behind a compensation claim. A plain-language question searches Hong Kong personal injury and employees’ compensation judgments, with answers linked to the paragraphs they came from.

    Cravante

AI that keeps the conversation on your iPhone.

I built Cravante for people who want help from AI without sending their conversations to an online service. It handles writing, translation and summaries on the iPhone, and keeps working offline once the selected model is ready.

    For founders and small businesses

    Let’s work towards your goals.

If you’re starting a business, improving your website or learning to build something yourself, I’ll work with you personally. We’ll start with what you want to achieve and work through the next steps together. Where AI can help, I’ll explain the tools, what they can and can’t do, and how to use them on your own project.

    The three tests

Every website and app I make has to pass all three.

    01

    Beautiful.

Does the design make people want to look closer?

    02

    Easy.

Can someone work out what to do without an explanation?

    03

    Works.

Does it do its job on the phone they already have?

I take an idea from its first sketch to a working app or website people can use.

    About Alex

    Design first. Technology always.

I studied advertising and graphic design, then spent years helping people in Ireland feel confident with technology. Today I bring that experience to business websites, apps and the decisions behind them. You work directly with me.

Teaching and community / Since 2021

I’ve seen where people get stuck.

I began teaching digital skills in 2021 and taught more than 500 groups of older people in community centres and other local settings. I learned to notice where people hesitate and give them time to ask questions.

That experience shapes the words, screens and instructions I design. If your customer needs to book, pay or get in touch, I want them to feel able to do it.

Earlier teaching and community work included MSLETB, Mayo County Library and Age Friendly Ireland.
