About this policy
This policy describes Squeeze: The Grip Game and its pages at alexsantos.ie/squeeze. Questions about privacy can be sent to hello@alexsantos.ie.
The app has no Squeeze account, advertising service or third-party analytics SDK. Its local gameplay data is not sent to a Squeeze server.
Data stored in the app
The app may save the following on your iPhone so that the board, history and sharing features work:
- Player names and optional profile details you enter, such as birth year, sex and sports.
- Attempt dates, selected hand, estimated readings, curves and measurement-quality information.
- Face-recognition data and face crops associated with a player or an attempt.
- The latest selfie clip and local measurement logs.
- Preferences, including the selected unit and hand.
The app stores measurement information locally. It may request microphone permission for its measurement features. Ordinary play does not keep ambient audio recordings or add microphone audio to the shared selfie clip.
Saved player content is protected while the phone is locked. The app marks its data folder to be excluded from device backups, but backup behaviour is controlled by iOS; this setting cannot guarantee that no backup copy exists. Preferences are stored locally by iOS. Squeeze has no cloud sync or restore service.
The app asks for camera permission for its selfie and face features, microphone permission for relevant measurement features, and permission to add to Photos when you choose an export that needs it. You can change permissions in iOS Settings.
Face recognition
The front camera supplies the live preview, face crops and trial clip. Face processing happens on your iPhone. When you choose Remember me, Squeeze stores face-recognition information alongside a name to recognise a returning player.
Choose Play without remembering to skip face recognition and enrollment. This still saves your entered name and results locally, plus trial face crops and the latest clip when the camera is enabled.
It does not infer age or sex from a face. The optional profile details are entered by the player. Face recognition is a convenience for this local game, not identity verification.
Face-recognition information and face crops are not uploaded to a Squeeze server or used for advertising. A face can appear in the clip or score card you choose to export.
Retention and deletion
The app keeps saved gameplay data until you remove it or erase the app’s data. The latest trial clip is replaced as new trials are recorded.
To remove a player, select them in the remembered-faces area and choose Forget. After confirmation, the app deletes their face-recognition information, scores, profile details and associated face crops. It also clears the latest kept clip whenever anyone is forgotten, even if the clip came from another turn. This covers clips from failed turns that have no saved result.
Guest players who chose Play without remembering are not listed as remembered faces. Use Forget all to remove their saved records.
Forget all removes all saved players, attempts, face data, the kept clip and raw measurement logs. Copies already exported, backed up or shared outside the app are not removed by either action. Delete those copies in their destination.
Permissions can be revoked in iOS Settings. Revoking a permission does not itself delete previously saved data; use the app’s deletion controls for that.
This website and support
These Squeeze pages do not include advertising pixels, analytics scripts or a mailing-list form. They do not use browser storage for marketing or profiling.
The hosting provider may process ordinary request information, such as an IP address, browser details and access times, to serve the site and protect it.
If you email support, your address and the contents of your message are processed to reply and resolve your request. Send only the details needed to explain the issue. Please do not send sensitive recordings or information about another person without their permission.
